trying to convert rm video to avi or mpeg but nothing works....have tried several different converters but only get error messages...tried rm converter but get "not a video file or format not supported" message tried EO video but get a "real media file error 30810-0" message. Thought maybe video was corrupt or something but it plays fine in real player...does anyone know what the problem could be???...is there a way to find out what a 30810-0 error in EO video is??? Looked for an explanation of their error messages but found nothing...been trying to figure this out for four days now...would really appreciate some help ????????????

I had dramas with converting RM videos to anything else as well. I have tried every tool on this site recommended for doing it and I can say categorically that the only one that actually works is EO video.
Ultra RM Converter and Win2AVI both don't work despite claiming to be able to do it. EO Video is the only thing I've had success with. Follow the EO Video guide in here and it'll work. -
THANKS for replying...any way to find what EO videos error messages mean??? If vid plays ok in real player it must be ok right??? Correct me if I'm wrong...thanks again for your reply

With EO Video-many a time encoding the video and audio seperately and then muxing helps even when it fails to convert-rm file with video and audio directly to avi or mpg with both audio and video.
Try Real7ime Converter-it has not failed me with any file-even with partially downloaded files-only requirement download and install helix codecs from Real Video forum at doom9 under utilties-but strictly do not compress audio-checked with latest xvid codec-divx codec-will not work with all codecs
Avisynth will frameserve files with single video and audio streams by using directshowsource and fps set to encoded fps-see file properties-clip source. files with multiple streams need to be converted to single stream audio and video with another utility rmmux available from Real Video forum at doom9-download the sure stream version
Avisynth as used above has not failed me with any file so far.
All the best -
I think it's doubtful that anyone here will be able to reproduce that error as it might be something concerning the program's interaction with your system setup or codec mix or something else unrelated directly to the program itself. Try e-mailing the vendor themselves and see if you get a response. At the very least they should be able to look up what the error code means. You could get lucky and they might give you a patch to fix it

Followed mph's instructions in previous post for real7time converter, downloaded and installed helix codecs from this link http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56972 tried it but it kept closing then went back to EO video and tried it and IT WORKED!
thanks for the replys...this forum has helped me many times.
