The most famous persons I have ever met were a couple or three of local TV personalities as they are only known locally or Australia wide.

I’ve spoken to them in person.

The two of them were at my local gym training there and the other personality at a local TV Station.

I am not going to give out the names as you people over in the U.S. and Britain wouldn’t know them.

You would say; “Never heard of them?”

I’ve seen a couple of Prime Ministers and the Queen here in Sydney.

I also met a well known Australian singer and actor as unintentional by chance.

The latest famous person, probably internationally known was Australia’s Prime Minister John Howard at my local licensed club.

    This was early last year.

I was happened to there and not really in person as he was shaking hands and greeting to his supporters.

There were a lot of media, the cameras and flash lights everywhere for that one person.

There were peaceful protesters outside the complex as well.

He was there very briefly after some kind of meeting or campaign on his way out.

Another thing, there was a local MP, a State Government politician living just two doors from my home.

He is only a local famous identity.

I haven’t seen him lately and he, his wife and baby must have moved into a better home.

  5. Jeff Bridges and Edward Furlong (filming on location nearby where I was living at the time... around 1992). I also met Richard Harris briefly when I was a kid, at a performance of "Camelot"... all I remember is he was very dismissive and didn't want to talk to the public (particularly KIDS... kind of ironic, given his last movie role).

  13. Add Gary Busey to the list. Ran into him last week in Ybor City. Apparently he's in the area on location filming a new indy feature titled "Descansos". Charles Durning is supposedly around too but I haven't seen him.

President Ford. Walked with him in Vail once. We went for a walk, ran into him and his body guards. He invited us to walk with him. He was very cool!

Captian Kirk! Ran into him shopping at teh Country Club plaza in Kansas City. He was getting pissed off by all the idiots bothering him for a audigraph. I asked him if he hated that and he said he doesn't mind the ones who are polite but the ones who stop him and won't shut up, drive him nuts. I shook his hand and walked on. No audigraph.

Talked with Eddy Money once after a concert at the local casino. He liked my Hawkeye shirt and was a big ten fan so we talked for about 1/2 hour or so. He's getting old.

I went to a local Trek convention. And, I was frightfully early because when I got to the convention floor, I was the only person on it (grin). Just then, a nearby elevator went "ding". The door opened and out stepped Mark Lenard (Sarek, Spock's father) dressed casually and carrying a Nordstrom's bag. He looked at the empty room, looked at me, and said, "It looks like we're both a bit too early." I replied, "Logical." He raised one eyebrow, and one corner of his mouth rose in a non-Vulcan grin. Then he turned around and got back on the elevator.
