I have a few dvd's on my laptop that I would like to transfer to disk on my (infamous) JVC dvd recorder. I have saved these dvd's onto my laptop using DVD shrink. I have a firewire cardbus and cable and of course the JVC has a DV in firewire point.
The laptop with win XP detects the presence of the recorder but cannot locate drivers for it via i/net etc.
Is what i'm trying to do here possible ? Do I need other software/drivers etc.

If you could make your PC look like a camera, and convert the DVD to DV, you might be in with a chance. Esentially you would be doing the same thing as writing a DV file back to tape.
Your DVD Recorder will expect a DV signel, but it won't be expecting files, so don't expect it to work like a harddrive.Read my blog here.
