  1. hi every 1...
I own a PIONEER 470 wich is a gr8 DIVX player, the only problem is
that it can't play movies encoded with a - PACKED BITSTREAM,
for this i have a good solotion but when it is also GMC: YES (in the file info) I have to re-encode the hole movie.
I tride to do that with WINAVI but for some resone it dosen't work!
the movie that comes out of the encoding is small and dosen't
look at the same quality as the original.
I tride doing it with VirtualDubMod but it takes a really long time.
is there any other programs that can re-encode the AVI file for
me as fast as WINAVI and with good resolts???

Reencoding always reduces quality (as long as we're talking DivX/XviD/mpg). Bite the bullet, and use VirtualDub. For other suggestions, look under tools.

  3. so what u'r saying is that there isn't any faster way to re-encode
a movie from one XVID encoding to another XVID encoding???
I'm really surprised! does any 1 else have any other thoughts in this matter?

Only way to encode faster is to lower motion search precision, etc. which would just lead to even lower quality.

What you encode from is rather irrelevant. It's the "to" that matters, and how you set the encoder up (and what processor power you have). I'm not sure if it works in your situation, but have you tried "Fast recompress" in VirtualDub?

  6. yes i have, it has almost no effect what so ever on the process.
any way, as I menchend earlier I'm re-encoding movies for my
DVD DIVX PLAYER (PIONEER 470), does any 1 have any other
sudgestions as to how and with what (program, encoder and such..)?

by the way, does any 1 know what - OPENDML mean?
and how does it affect the movie?
