apparently the best university in Canada(according to macleans) is St. Francis Xavier in Nova Scotia....nevr been there myself.

I don't go there, but from what i can tell UBC is a pretty nice school

I might be going up to UNBC in the fall.....so we'll see how that turns out

Do you currently live in Prince George or just going to travel there for school?

Have you heard about UBC expanding into Kelowna? I understand this September they will be openning up a few programs...

Great summers though - start early, end late (as far as Canada goes) and doesn't get all that hot.

On a downside, traffic is pretty bad - mostly due to all the waterways (bridges are expensive) and cost of living is pretty high. IMO a beautiful city to visit but I personally don't want to live there any more...
Actually I like rain, so maybe that's the place for me. Also, after living in San Francicso from '79-91, I got used to a cooler climate. After I returned to Florida, where I grew up, I still haven't reacclimatized to the heat and humidity.....

I'm tallking about University of Toronto...Who cares what Macleans says...check this study:

    http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2004/top500%281-100%29.htm

BTW, we call it "Ry High" around here, and I usually refer to it as a glorified community college. We at U of T frown on Ry High...as our T-shirts say: Friends don't let friends go to Mac, York, Ryerson, Brock, etc.

They're gonna have their own flag now? Next thing you know they'll want to have their own money. The nerve.

@Ma_Jie - I was just yankin' your chain... I knew you were referring to UofT. Good school, I've got a number of buds that graduated in Engineering from there.

My only complaint about UofT was that it's spread over downtown Toronto - you don't get the sensation of being on campus as much as you do other schools.

I don't really mind the distances; it's only a few minutes walk, 10-15 mins max, and alotta people put on the Freshman 15, so they could prolly use the walk.

U of T just has too many facilities and residences to be tiny and compact; more than 37,000 undergraduates, including myself, attended U of T in 2003-2004, so it's just impossible. If we had 4,000 like Trent, we could run the whole campus outta the Chesut rez (AKA Colony Hotel).

I know a few people in Engineering, but I'd say U of T is more known for our grad school, the biggest in Canada, and Science-type stuff.

I guess I was just spoiled with the campus at UBC - they've got quite a bit of land and the campus is pretty much it's own town now (and has been for quite a while).

I'm not mocking UofT at all - it's an great school.

UBC's a great school too...I rank U of T and UBC #1 and #2 in Canada. They're both great, and I think UBC's Asian Studies program is good too (I study EAS @ U of T).
