  2. 4x media is getting harder and harder to find, especially online (unless you're looking into cheapo, generic media). I've had ZERO issues with CMC as well, I've burned hundreds of CMC discs of all different media codes.

I just bought a bunch of 4x Office Depot brand discs, the media is Ritek R03 and Ritek G04, they've burned VERY well at 4x and 8x, so that's one option to look into if they go on sale. I know people have had some problems with Ritek media, but this stuff appears to be a better grade than what some people have gotten. Office Max also has deals on their slower media at times, their 'Value Disc' and Khypermedia brands are usually TTG01 or CMC media, I've had no problems with either and they sometimes have prices around $.20 per disc. Otherwise, you might want to start looking into 8x media as it has become the norm, most 4x burners do fine with 8x media, especially with up-to-date firmware. For 8x media, Best Buy has Fuji for sale all the time. Their made in Japan discs are Taiyo Yuden, very good media.

  3. You might try TY value disc from Supermediastore.com or other stores with this. It will be either G01 or G02 and they both burn flawlessly at 4X, at least on my 3500. Also MCC from Verbatim (-R 8X) burns very well at 4X. Newegg.com has some good prices after rebate. Avoid Ritek G05, they are better at 8X for many.
Still a few bugs in the system...

  4. Tons of 4x media of all type of brands (Memorex, Fuji, Verbatim, etc) on eBay at some really good prices if ya play it smart.

And knock on wood, never a problem with the sellers or media for me to this point.
