  1. Hi do you guys know of any software that will detect the type of DVD I have? I cannot seem to play a DVD I got, so I'm wondering if there is a util that allows you to detect which format it is PAL/NTSC...

    Thanks

  2. Hi-

One way would be to rip a chapter to the hard drive using DVDDecrypter, and then open the vob file in VDubMod. Then go File-File Information and see what it says. 720x576 is PAL, and 720x480 is NTSC. There are probably many ways, but that's one.

You can check the VOBs with AVIcodec and see what the framerate is. If it's 25fps, then it's PAL. Not really complicated.

Yep, right from the dvd in your drive, don't even have to rip it to your HDD, unless that's where it already is 8)
