With this patch Pinnacle is advertising DivX support. I never used it and would like comments from this community if it's worthwhile spending $10 dor the DivX Codec Pack.

Below details of release according to Pinnacle.

We are pleased to announce the release of Studio 9.4 with support for DivX. files (DivX codec sold separately*). Now you can import, edit and export DivX files direct from Studio. With DivX video technology, you can compress a VHS tape down to one hundredth of its original size or a DVD to one-tenth of its size. DivX video compression is so efficient you can fit the entire contents of a DVD on a regular data CD with no perceivable loss in quality (based on manufacturer's claims). This Free update also lets you import and edit video from DVDs created by Studio, DVD camcorders or set top DVD recorders, as well as import, edit and export progressive scan MPEG-2 files and more.

  2. Divx is the goods. Probably the most widely supported MPEG4 codec.

  3. I have problems with this patch and VST plugins. Unless you need the new features I would stay away from this one until they get it fixed. 9.3.1.5 seems to be more stable. One VST supplier has contacted Pinnacle and I expect a revised patch.
