arp,
I don't have / no anthing about the PCTV USB, but is it JUST a MJPEG or
MPEG1 card ONLY??
If so, that's pretty much you reason, even with MJPEG. You have to use
you softare app what it came with to EXPORT the captured clip to some
other codec, ie, HUFFY. That is, if it's an MJPEG card. It might be a card
locked to only ONE type of capture. But, I could be wrong, and its just a
matter of receiving more details about your card and what it captures to,
ie AVI, MJPEG, etc.
Later.

Hi Vhelp,
The Card capture AVI. At software that came with card can't let me choose codec's. So if i can work with other codec (lossless) i must work with other capture software and i can do it with virtualdub, but the problem is many drop frames. Somebody tell me that AVI_IO is better for capture, but can't let me choose any codec! (have many codec's instaled!). PCTV USB is like PCTV PCI but resolution limited by USB port.
Thanks -
arp,
two things before i leave for work (on lunch)
1 - find the huffy codec (just a .dll file) somewhere's here, if you havne't
already got it.
2 - try and do a capture at 352x480, but no higher. That's about the best
I can see this card doing.
See ya later. -
Hi Vhelp,
I alredy have huffy codec instaled and much more codec's (i can choose at virtualdub), but the problem is that AVI_IO can't let me chosse any codec, any!
When I open the combo-box to chose video compression the one option is "no compression"!
Can help? -
Are you 100% sure that you can't select other codec's?
Have you tried to use the arrow keys (up and down)in the codec box?
On my system I can't select any codec without using the arrow keys (nice GUI design)

To use huffy and others your card needs to support YUY2, UYVY, or RGB capture formats.
You should be able to select one of these on the Video Settings -> Format menu option if your capture device supports it. Otherwise you may be out of luck.
