I think there is something wrong with my DCR-TRV265E camera. I have had it since Christmas and it has worked well but recently it has not been sending footage into Windows Movie Maker properly. I plug the USB cable in and then when I turn the camera on, an icon comes up and says "new sortware: USB" or something like that. It then brings up a wizard which tries to get me to find the software I need (?!?!) before giving up. It has now stopped doing that, and the normal noise a USB cable makes when detected has changed to a double version, then there is nothing else. No help wizard or anything comes up. I try to capture using Windows Movie Maker but it says it cannot detect a device. The camera is on and plugged in but my computer doesn't detect it. Is this a problem with my computer or the camera?

In the menu on the camera there may be a setting regarding the USB output.
I think it might be something like a USB toggle function between USB - NORMAL and USB - STREAMING.
I couldn't get access to my memory stick as the camera was in USB-Streaming mode. It was driving me bananas until I decided to reread the manual
It may be something along those lines.
Cheers
