i can only imagine how much dvd+r's would be.. i'll decline and continuing using my sharpie until this becomes the same price as regular recordable media. -
saw some verbatim lightscribe on allmediaoutlet for $177 for 300 pack, 59 cents a piece.

My cousin just got some lightscribe drive and waiting for the CD-Rs, going to see what he says.. -
Who actually likes and uses this lightscribe crap. If you want to print on dvds, why not just buy a cheap printer $80 or so and get the labels in color instead of the stupid lightscribe etching? I just don't get it?

Best Buy sells 30 disc spindles of Verbatim 52x CD-Rs for $20.
Prices will likely drop as time passes. Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think. -

(3) Water resistance. Smudge protection from wet/oily hands, especially in the summer. (This may not be an issue for people outside of North America who have access to Canon disc printers.)
(4) Discs are either in a case or in the player. Is color that important? Keep in mind that people use DVDs for many things, not just baking up retail DVDs. IMO color is often overrated (granted I am a fan of B&W photography.)
I have said it before, and will say it again, this is a technology I would like to see evolve and improve. It has great potential, especially for mobile users. Color (ink) printed images can fade and shift color (UV light and gasses like ozone). Lightscribe discs *should* not suffer from color shift (yellowing) since the image layer is not exposed to the air.
Do not forget, Inkjet printable media was just as expensive as LightScribe media, if not more so, when it first came out. The same could be said of non-printable DVD +/- R media. Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think. -
That's true when I replied I didn't really think about using dvds for other purposes besides backing up or making home dvds. Come to think of it lightscribe is actually kinda cool, when you think about it. It was late and I was tired when I 1st replied....next time I'll just wait till morning, when I have a grasp of what I'm reading....
