I use Nero to do my burning and have had probably 95% success.My problem comes when i have the odd coaster (usually my fault).My trouble is stoping Nero and closing it down and ejecting the disk.The cancel option is highlighted and none of the options under File are highlighted.Also the disk will not eject.
The only thing which i can do is shut down and reboot.
Is this normal?

I think it's pretty much normal. It happens to me once in awhile.
I think it has to do with your pc and how many programs are running , etc. If you have used up alot of space on your pc,.. then you'll probably encounter some difficulties, with Nero and some other programs.

You said the "cancel" button is highlighted. Does clicking this stop the process? If so, but then you cannot close Nero, you can always try the Windows Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) and shut down Nero that way.

As far as the disk not ejecting, you might try to open "My Computer" and right clicking on the DVD drive and selecting "eject."
