Yeesh ok fairly recently i had trouble getting on my hotmail.com account, whenever i'd go to log in the page would just load endlessly and never get anywhere. It was at this time that i first downloaded MSN messenger and then afterwards the problem stopped, i thought it was something to do with the messenger but i was wrong.

Anyway i recently reformated my Pc and reinstalled MSN messenger, now the problem is happening again. Its just impossible to get to my hotmail account.

I know there must be some silly browser plug-in or software setting that hotmail now requires, and i accidently loaded it up to allow access to it last time, but i have no idea what it was and am lost again.

I can't be the only one this problem has happened to. How do i fix this? I'd greatly appreciate any help for this annoying problem....

  2. A buddy of mine from work has the same problem. He can connect with Firefox or from a different computer, but never with IE. It doesn't say there is a login error or anything, it just wants him to keep entering his password.

I.E is my only browser. And yeah in addition to being impossible to get to my hotmail account, it also asks for my password even when i've checked the little "remember me" box.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......................

  4. Well, do yourself a favor and get firefox. Its a safer alternative and its highly configurable, if you like that sort of thing. At least you'll have a way into hotmail...

Tell me, can you access your hotmail through MSN Messenger while logged into it?

    Yes, here

Have you tried going here and signing in?

Have you logged in in at least 30 days? If you have not loggged in in thirty days, then your account is deactivated.

You also do not need msn messenger to log into hotmail.

  9. Firefox is quite a capable browser. Just start using it a bit and you may notice that you like it. Maybe go to the homepage and look through the themes and extentions, some are quite useful.

I also thought that it was some setting on the guy's computer, a firewall problem an IE cookie problem, cache, anything. I performed ALL the basic maintenece that one would think of (Cleaning cookies, deleting temp internet files, a few more assorted things...I even uninstalled both his firewall and virus utility (norton for the both of them)) and still no luck. I changed the privacy settings...updated everything, still nothing.

To this day he has to use firefox (or any other browser) to login to hotmail.
He has used it many times (from other computers) so I know the account was valid.

It MUST be something with IE but I'll be damned if I know what it is.
