Go to the U.S., BenQ site and DL G7P9...or alternatively, cross-flash your drive to the B series of FW, e.g., BP79 or BT79, or BU79...go to the CDFREAKS BenQ/Philipus forum for more info on cross-flashing.

use that link i provided to download the firmwares. you can cross flash the drive by downloading the WINDXFLASH.EXE and B7P9 cvt file if you want to cross flash the drive to the B firmware series. make sure you have no media in the drive, turn off all programs running in the background like antivirus software and you can flash the drive in windows or in safe mode. double click the WINDXFLASH.EXE then direct it to the B7P9 cvt file reboot the pc when the flashing is done.

  5. You can also use G7T9 although it may have problems with cd-dvd speed.

    ftp://62.101.64.70/dvd-rw/firmware/dw1620a/bulk/g7t9.zip

but in the G series either P or T are the best of the bunch.
