I'm trying to replace my Epson Stylus CX5400, but I would like another printer/scanner/copier that will print directly onto CD's and DVD's. Is there anything out there that will do this or do I have to keep my Epson and buy a printer specifically printing onto discs?

As far as I know, only the Rxxx series by Epson will print on CDs and DVDs. These unfortunately are not multifunction printers. Have you tried looking on Epson's web site?
The R200 can be found for under $100 if you can find it on sale, but this would mean you would have to buy 2 printers. What you could do is just buy a scanner to go along with it, and also use it as your copier. Total cost would be right around $200 or so, maybe less if you can find some good deals.
You don't state where you live, but in the US, Epson is the only printer manufacturer that can print on CD/DVD, so you would have to use this method.
Anyone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I'm curious however. If one were to get a newer Epson scanner and plug it directly into the USB port on the front of, say and R320 or R300M with the preview LCD on it, would the easy-scan button (found on most scanners) somehow interface with the printer without the need for a computer?

I have an R320 and an older USB Epson scanner, let me try it and get back to you. This would be much like an all-in-one, you'd just need a little more space for it.

I'm Michigan in the US and I guess I could buy a scanner as well as an Epson Stylus R200. My only concern was the two "wall-wart" plugs that will kill all but 2 of my outlets on my surge protector. I've got the space on my desk to do it. What's a decent scanner to look into?

You can buy add on plug strips for next to nothing. A cheep surge protector will work also. Just add it to the other one. You don't need to surge protect a surge protector.
    Thanks Mike

What do you mean with the power strip? My R320 uses a simple two-prong plug. However you are correct that many powered scanners use adapters for power.

My scanner is USB powered, however it was a Canon scanner so it didn't work with my Epson printer. My Epson scanners are all at work. I poked around the Epson site but didn't find anything regarding using their scanners and printers with USB inputs as a solution to an all-in-one.
