    hey everyone,
i was takin a new look at my desktop and thought "man, im plain." so i decided to add a little kick to my cyber self. i searched GOOGLE, and found that people made icons, and i thought that was pretty cool, and it would be a nice change from the standard FOLDER picture. so could anybody please advise on HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN ICONS. thanks.

  3. .ico

An icon is nothing but a jpg, tiff, gif, or whatever, with the .ico extention.
They MUST be a certain size though (32x32 or 48x48 pixels).

wow, this icon thing is pretty easy. thanks guys. like my good friend reboot pointed out, i used one of my favorite apps, GIMP, to output the jpegs into icos, a little TOO simple, dont you think..?

  7. Nope, not too simple at all, but MS would have us think that .ico is a very mystical type of magic button, that only THEY can control...bwah, ha, ha, ha...
