I'm lost. I'm thinking less conversions will make better low end dvd's so I want to capture vhs, svhs, and hi8 to mpeg2 via the all in wonder. Would someone explain this unit and how my new DVI monitor can be displayed?

    ???
on the AIW's that have DVI, the DVI port is for OUTPUT only, so you can't capture via DVI (Having a hard time understanding your question)
as far as displaying on a DVI LCD monitor, just plug & play for the most part
if you want to know which AIW's have DVI, just go to www.ati.com and click on products -- AIW's are listed under Multimedia

I don't see a DVI out on any AIW card.

    your not looking hard enough
once you get to their multimedia products page, click on product comparison an pick a few, then click Submit
it will give you a break down of all features and what kind of I/O ports
i have the AIW 9000 Pro (no longer listed on their site) and it has DVI
