I recently installed a Fusion HDTV card, and have been trying to convert the captured .TP stream to DVD with no luck.
File info - 1280x720, 59.94 fps, 16:9 AR. (the actual video is 960x720, 4:3 AR with black bars added to the sides)
    My attempts:

    1. PVAstumento (convert to "corrected" MPEG2 and demux) > MPEG2Schnitt (cut commercials) > VirtualDub-MPEG2 (crop and resize,frameserve) > CCE basic (re-encode) > author w/ DVDAuthorGUI.
RESULT: Audio gradually drifts (in sync at beginning, out of sync by the 40% point, and continues to get worse).

    2. PVAstumento (convert to "corrected" MPEG2) > VirtualDub-MPEG2 (cut commercials, save audio, crop and resize, frameserve) > CCE basic (re-encode) > author w/ DVDAuthorGUI.
    RESULT: Audio out of sync

    3. HDTV2MPEG2 (convert to MPEG2) > VirtualDub-MPEG2 (cut commercials, save audio, crop and resize,frameserve) > CCE basic (re-encode) > author w/ DVDAuthorGUI.
    RESULT: Audio out of sync

    4. HDTV2MPEG2 (convert to MPEG2) > VirtualDub-MPEG2 (save audio, crop and resize,frameserve) > CCE basic (re-encode) > author w/ DVDAuthorGUI.
    RESULT: Audio out of sync

    5. HDTV2MPEG2 (convert to MPEG2) > VirtualDub-MPEG2 (save audio, frameserve) > CCE basic (re-encode) > author w/ DVDAuthorGUI.
    RESULT: Audio out of sync

6.Tried using the supplied "FusionConverter" on the original .TP file to convert to DVD-compliant MPEG2, and the audio is still out of sync.

Has anyone had any success in converting the Fusion .TP files to DVD? Any tips or hints?

Run it through Mpeg2Repair first http://users.adelphia.net/~mwilczyn/mpeg2repair/

Run the repaired file through HDTV2MPEG2

Test the new .MPG file for good sync

Encode to DVD compliant Mpeg2 WITH commercials (yes, it will take longer to encode)

Check encoded 720x480 file for good sync

    Cut out commercials

    Check again for good sync

    Demux

soopafresh -thanks for the info, but I think I found the problem:
    (from the DVICO website)

    date - 2005-03-15 version - 2.99.07
    "[Changes since 3.0 Beta2 Release (2.99.05)]

"- Fixed the out-of-sync problem on the long-term recording."

    I'm testing/converting a new capture now - we'll see what happens.

UPDATE - It looks like the driver update solved the problem; I did a 2 hour capture and converted it with no sync problems (Woo-hoo!).
