    Hello,

Just a minor rant here - I hate it when companies install their videogames using their parent companies name instead of the actual videogame name!!

I mean don't they know how large the PROGRAM FILES folder gets these days??? It's like finding a needle in a haystack. No I know you can change the "default" setting during install but I never like changing the install setup just incase something goes wrong......

    END RANT

But wouldn't the Program Files folder be more larger if they did this?

    Hello,

No I mean the actual name of the folder. What I'm getting at is that a ton of programs use there corporate entity names instead of the actual program name and makes it really hard to find it.

Besides - windows limits the actual viewable text of the icon to two lines (or is it two???)... You have to mouse over it to read the whole thing....

I don't mean the actual length of the written folder name I mean the number of programs in the program folder - the size of the name of the folder doesn't bother me....

  4. EA is particularily bad. Everything goes into EASports folder. There are others, but I forget.
I ALWAYS change the default install path, and if the stupid thing can't figure out where I installed it, it get's uninstalled, deleted, and/or returned.
I have NO patience with shoddy software!

It's not the software its the designer - bad placement.

Yeah EA is great but finding a game can be tricky....

Like I said I know I can custom name the directory but I don't do it in case of future updates and patches - I want them to be able to find it without a problem....

    Just an annoyance of mine

Should not matter, i never install games to their default directory, not even on my C: drive, and i have never had a problem with an update fiinding the game no matter where it was installed 8) and if one fails to find it (which i have never had happen) they did'nt do a good job on the update

I actually dedicate a 20gig partition just for games so as not to fill up my C: drive.

  7. why dont you make a game directory in your program files directory, then installl all games to there. then you know exactly where all the games are on your system.

worked with dos 3.3, im sure it will still work with windows.

but you have to take responsibility and make sure you install them correctly. otherwise you can just bitch and moan, i think i know which option you will choose.
