Hi! I have this problem: I have some already compressed videos (let's say "events", captured from my Digital Camera, and compressed to AVI using DivX, XVid, etc.). I would like to add some animated titles to my videos, but I don't know how to do that, as long as my vidoes are compressed. I mean I could do that using Windows Movie Maker, but in the end, I get an .wmv file, with a lower bitrate, and don't want that. I want to keep the avi format.
Can titles only be added before the compression is made? I mean - create the animated title and then create a compressed avi, containg both my video and the title??
If you guys now anything....please let me know.
Thanks...

If you want to avoid re-compressing, just create the titles with the same specs (framerate, res, audio format, etc) and join then in front.

I have done that (with heroglyph) but I can't join them because the streaming is different. Why is that?

None can answer that but you. Since you've created both AVIs, you're responsible for creating them in the same way. It's then a simple issue of joining them with VirtualDub (Load + Append)
