    well i read an article from net related 2 slipstreaming sp2 installer with winxp setup

    well just wanted 2 know what actually happens in the process

    I believe you would be applying the updates from SP2 to the original installation CD, creating a new installation CD that when you install Windows using it will already have SP2 (and updates) installed.

    IOW, you slipstream SP2 and do a fresh install from that new CD, you don't have to install SP2 or any of its updates, because they're already there!
