    I have an avi file with compression using PIXL. The file is playable with Window Media Player, but Virtual Dub and TMPGEnc cannot open this file saying that they cannot decompress this code. Can anyone help me with this?

    PIXL seems to be the same as VIXL -- both are MJPEG codecs:

    http://www.fourcc.org/codecs.php#VIXL

    You might try changing the fourcc code to MJPG and using another MJPG decoder.
