  1. Hi all,

I'm authoring a DVD with a few movie clips but it needs to have several audio only clips too, so a slideshow is in order. There are 5 movie clips and nine seperate slideshows, each with a DTS soundtrack.

OK, I have tried the following.

Simple layout - VTS menu with all clips and shows in one VTS

VTS menu with movies in one VTS and slideshows in another

VMG menu with all in one VTS

    VMG menu with two VTS.

Problem I have is there are never any muxing errors, but when I play the finished article in WINDVD, or burn it and use an ordinary player, there is a serious problem.

The first four slides play just fine, but the rest will not display the slides - the menu (or whatever was being displayed before the fifth slide) stays on the screen, but the audio plays fine.

This happens when I access the fifth or later slide from the menu, or when I "next track" from the player.

BUT - if I let the fourth track play out, it will jump as per my jump link to the fifth displaying the correct slide, and so on all the way to the 9th, then jump back to the menu just fine.

Also, when burning with Nero, it gives the following error

    "DVD-Video files reallocation failed"

If I continue, the disk will play with exactly the same problems as stated above.

All the assets are verified and OK.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks.

To be honest, I don't use the slideshow generator in DVD Lab Pro much any more. It has become too buggy (or maybe always was ?) for too many people. I have used it in the past to make short slideshows, and never had a problem, but there are a lot of people who have problems with it. I usually use either memories on TV if I need something done quickly, or Vegas if I can take my time.

I have had one issue with DVD Lab slideshows - playback on Phillips standalone players had audio drop out at the change of slide. Did not happen on other players (tested Pioneer, LG, Sony and some chinese no-name player).
