  1. I used Quicktime Pro and 3ivx to convert an AVI file to MP4. It plays fine on the computer I created it on (Windows XP) in QT and Windows Media. I have had others download it and there have been some problems. It seems to have problems downloading in IE and Safari and the screen shots I've rec'd are a garbled mess. Netscape seems to be fine. What does this mean? The file is located at http://www.daydreamsart.com/weddingshow.mp4 and it is 18MB.

I cannot download it at all. The connection status is active, but no download screen appears.

I would appreciate any help or direction with this.

    Just a question.
Why did you convert it to MPEG4?

Most .avi's are already a type of MP4.

Was it a DV avi before you converted it?

  4. It is a slide show created in Pictures to EXE. I created the AVI with that program. As an AVI it was 110 MB (too big). As an exe file it is only 18MB. EXE files will not play on Macs, and I want this show available to PC and Mac. I thought be converting it to an MP4, that would be the answer. I would like to have it play smoothly, full screen (as it does in the EXE version) without loss of quality. I opened the AVI in QT Pro, saved as a .mov (74MB now), then exported that as an MP4. When I tried exporting as a Quicktime movie, the quality really suffered.

If there is another solution for Macs to view my show, I'm open to suggestions.
