Hi There,

yesterday I was capturing a film from my digital satellite receiver via Leadtek
TV-Card and Vdub. As the compressor while live capturing I always use MS MPEG4 V2. It was about the 200th time doing a capture.

But this time something went completely wrong. Today I opened the file in Vdub to do some postprocessing and compression. After opening the problem was visible: The picture (every frame) ist split in to 2 halfs of equal size. But the two sides ar also permuted. The right part of the splitted picture ist on the left side and vice versa. Also in the right halt the colours are defect, it looks like blue color is missing. While seeking through the stream, Vdub hangs up.

But in MS Media Player the stream plays well, nothing noticeable.

Now I´m seeking for someone who knows about the problem. Is it a problem of the MPEG4 codec?? Or is it a Vdub bug (Version 1.5.10)?

To rescue my captured movie I´m also looking for a simple video tool, that does some fast but affecting conversion with the frames so that perhaps I get a repaired movie afterwards, because MS Media Player is also able to decode the movie well, maybe the other software also does.

My System: Athlon XP Barton 2500 @3200 Abit Nf7S, Leadtek WinFAST 2000 XP TV-Card

Thank you for your help!

Yours Wolfgang from Germany (Black Forest)
