DVD is missing first 15mins of movie

I have heard of this happening with Pinnacle Studio 9, my friend has a movie he is trying to burn in studio and it plays fine in the edit mode. When he burns it to disc and watches it back on any dvd player or computer it skips about the first 15mins of his movie and plays the rest. He has tried removing menus and titles, still the same thing. Is this a software problem or perhaps a hardware problem with my dvd burner? Have someone run into this problem with other software too?

If you are using PS9 to burn the disc, maybe try saving the project as an image file (iso), then burn with different software (nero).
