  1. Hi all,

I have a NEC 1300A DVD burner and I have bought some cheaper media at one of the local computer stores to burn some stuff that I don't care if it lasts or not... (ie. putting a tv show to dvd for viewing and free up HD space).

Anyways, when I tried to burn to the media it would not burn and kept comming up with errors. I contacted NEC and they said that the burner can only burn specific types of media (ie. TDK, TY, Maxwell, sony etc.)

SSOOOO my question is, is there a way to get my burner to burn any type of media, like the cheap bundels of 50 for $19, or am I stuck with using the more expensive media?

    My advise?
Go to www.rima.com - buy Taiyo Yuden media and be done with it. TY media is the best you can buy(in many people's opinions). Stop mucking about with pre-packaged media that has hit or miss quality.
    Good luck to ya'

I had no problems burning any and all cheap media with my nec nd 1300a.
Mostly I used Princo 1x that burned at 2x, but I bought what ever was cheapest, never had a problem. I did flash the firmware to ver 1.ob I think.
