Try install DivX codec(under the Tool section - Codecs) and use Media Player Classic.

  3. now this really confuses me, i already have the divx codecs installed, so i skipped that step, i went to try the media classic and it played my video fine with audio. why would like wmp the newest one not play it, and divx player not play it etc.? now when i burned this onto disc i didnt have audio on the disc either, anything i need to do so that i can ensure the audio works on a burn of the clips?

    thanks

DivX should play OK on wmp if you have the codec installed. Use GSPOT and confirm that your media is DivX format. Since it plays fine on media player classis, your burn clip should play OK.
