I recently saw a great article in this forum on how to backup using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I now can't find it. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. It was really simple and easy to follow. Thanks neelat

I tried usingShrink to back up the extra's disc for French Connection...a no go. Used DeCrypter and now NOTHING will burn it!! Even DeCrypter won't recognise the folder!!! Any ideas?

Thanks for that Sifaga. That wasn't the one I was looking for but it was still good. The other article that I'd seen gave you different options like how to backup the movie only or the whole disc using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink only. It also had an interesting suggestion when running DVD Shrink where you get to the "Compress video with high quality error compensation" option. The advice was something like if your compression was above a certain percentage to use sharp option and if below a certain percentage to use smooth option(or vice versa?? sorry I can't remember)
I actually had the other one book marked but it has gone walk-about!
    Anyway thanks again.

I believe this may be the artical you are refering to:
    newbieguidefortheperfectdvdtodvd-/+blankmedia.zip
Although it does appear to have been removed for some reason, if you should select the option to see all posts by blinky88 you will find it there. I have difficulty understanding why it would be removed when it obviously did help some members.

Maybe the moderaters of the site didn't think it was worth keeping, I suspect, I would be more correct by saying 'one' of the moderaters. This is by far the best site of its kind on the web, perhaps the moderater who deleted the thread has forgotten it is a public forum and unless my artical was offensive in some way to the community, it should have been allowed to outlive its usefulness by lack of interest.

If you have problems locating it, send a PM (private message) via this site giving your e-mail address and I will e-mail it to you. I note you are also an Aussie, I'm originally from Sydney now living in the Sunshine State.

To Scooter, you may also benefit by reading the same artical.

A search under Newbie - General discussions will find it:
Newbie guide for the perfect DVD to DVD-/+ blank media.

    Hi Sifaga,

Another Aussie, thank you, I believe that is the post he was looking for. Having found the post via a search, I simply did not know how to supply a link ..and.. I also have trouble trying to refer to part of a statement (quote) to head my replies if needed.

Thanks for the link Sifaga. This was not the original article that I saw. The one I saw was not part of a forum answer but a separate full length article including pictures etc.

  9. I always liked this guide - http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/16/59/. Shrink then burn with decrypter when doing DVD9 to DVD5. Or, iso read then iso write with decrypter only when doing DVD5 to DVD5, like here - http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/22/59/.

    Hi Sifaga,

Thanks mate, a bit late but I finally became aware of the address bar and it will not be a problem in future.

I still have to find a way to take a part of a statement and head my reply with a quote.

    Cheers.
