  1. Hey, I have Pinnacle Studio 8 on my comp and it was giving me problems so i bought Pinnacle Studio 9. But when i uninstalled v.8 it said it was succesful and everything, but when i put in the v.9 install disk it always detects v.8 and won't let me install v.9. i have win. xp, and i kept uninstalling it and deleted every file i could find from it and even deleted all the keys i could find in regedit. but its still on my computer? its in my control panel add/delete programs still. And I can't get it off my Comp. does anyone know how to get it off so i can install v.9? i tried doin systm restore but i don't remember when i installed v.8 but i did at least 7 or 8 months ago and restore won't go past jan. for some reason. so if anyone can help me get v.9 on my comp. thank you.

Go to Sysinternals.com and download REGMON. Run it as you try installing 9 again, and stop REGMON capture as soon as you get the message that 8 is still installed. It will show you the registry entries that the 9 install is complaining about.

At least that's how it should work.

  3. Hey Thanks, i tried that but theres so much keys or processes that came up from the time i started to the time the window came on that i don't know what to look for? i saw the setup processes but they were at the begining and the ending when i stopped the capture didn't look like it had to do with pinnacle. it might be but i don't know what kind of process or path to look for? thanks though

Go to the start menu ------click on the run command and type in regedit------Go into the edit tab and choose find.

Type in Pinnacle studio and hit enter. Delete the keys that it finds. Hit F3 and repeat. Keep hitting F3 and delete. This could be a lengthy process but once all traces of Pinnacle are gone, then install version 9.

    Yes

It is in the h-key local machine tree.

    Programs-----Microsoft-----Windows-----Current version------Uninstall----

Look for it in there. Delete the Pinnacle key from there and it will disappear from the add/remove programs list in the control panel.

  7. 1 -uninstall the provious version
    2- delete anything from C:\Program Files\Pinnacle...
    3- delete anything from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pinn... IN WINDOWS XP
    C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Pinn... IN WINDOWS 98

In the registry, drill down to this key (using Search won't find it!):
    CODE
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D9 4-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}

    Delete the following key:
    CODE
    InProcServer32

Of course if this doesnt work try

    'Moveonboot'

Boot in safe mode, move the file to another folder, install "MoveOnBoot" and delete the folder using "MoveOnBoot"!
