  1. Hi guys,

I imported a DVD into DVDWS and the process was very very slow. I also imported a mpeg file and when tryng to edit using the jog bar keeps too slow. My hd keeps working all the time. I had to kill the process cause the cpu locked at 100% workload.

I moved to TDA and the process was smooth and fast. Thanks to Pegasys!

I have a trial of DVDWS and my computer is a PIII 900MHz with 40GB free on HD (7200RPM ATA 100) and 384MB RAM. Works well for most of my works.

Could somebody help with this slowly guy? Have anybody experienced this?
    Thanks for any help.
    superpina.

  2. I bet if you De-mux the Video it will speed up,and you will be-able to get more accurate Chapter marks. IMO Ulead still needs to inprove the Import DVD feature. best to Rip the DVD to the Computer first and DE-mux.

DWS2 needs 800MHZ or better, so your CPU is right on the border line.

You can try De-muxing your VOB to MPEG2 as suggested (see link below), but if you've already tried an MPEG2 file without a significant improvement, this probably won't help. Unless you want to upgrade your computer, stick with TDA or some other software with lower system requirements.

    Good Luck!

I just had another thought. You might visit this web site (below), and look for the area the talks about setting up alternate hardware profiles. This will permit you to boot up your computer with fewer "things" in your start-up. Doing this might improve the performance of your computer a little.

DWS can have problems with mpegs encoded by some programs. If possible, use "Closed" GOP's, and make sur ethere is a program "enc code" on your mpeg
