    Pretty good deal, the MIJ TDK 8x -r's were TY, 17.99 there were both MIJ and MIT 50 pc cake boxes. The CDr's are 52x Memorex 30 packs 3 for 9.99 that ID as Prodisc.

    acks i figured the TDK 8x DVD-R were just TTG02 media codes.....i was down at compusa this morning.....i guess i have another excuse to go down there tomorrow and see if i can get MADE IN JAPAN 8x DVD-R.....thanks for the information.

    TTG02 is not Taiyo Yuden.
    TTG02 is TDK. But equally as good.

    TDK has not had "made in Japan" since 2002.
    TDK plant was moved to Taiwan thereafter.
    Then sometime last year, they moved into a CMC-owned location.

    There still is MIJ TDK media lordsmurf, just not sold in the US market I'm afraid (aside from the hardcoat 4x DVD-Rs).

    Well TDK has made in Japan 8X DVD-r now, bought the 50 pack today and they were TY. Easy to spot in the classic TY cakeboxes, they had plenty of both MIJ as well as MIT. I only burned 2 so far and no problems. Great price for top quality media. The 90 cdr's for 9.99 wasnt bad either.
