  1. Help.... I am doing a project for someone and burning their video to DVD. The project is less than 500MB. Are DVD players capable of reading with this little bit of data? If not...Can extra data be put on to fill it out. How much do I need? Do you know where I can get some mpeg files to pack my DVD if I needed to???

    Thanks so much,
    Mark

There needs to be 1GB of material on a DVD for it to be read by a DVD player, however, your burning program will fill in empty data for you if you don't fill it yourself. I once made a DVD for my neighbor that was 45 seconds long. It was a news report of him being taken to the hospital in an ambulance and the ambulance got in an accident itself just at the spot where a highway cop had his video camera running. Anyway, the DVD ended up, like I said, 45 seconds or so. My burning program then filled in the rest of the empty data for me.

Bottom line: yes you have to have a minimum amount of data, but do you have to worry about it? No, the burning program will do it for you. (At lease it is suppose to, I use Nero) You'll notice that it takes about 10 times longer to "close" the burning process than normal.
