I'm trying to convert my VHS tapes to VCD. I've been able to convert one, following the directions on this site, but the second movie, recorded in THX and Digitally Mastered, is another story (it's copyrighted, of course, but I'm only copying it to use on my DVD player). My ATI AIW 128 Pro (AGP) appears to capture the whole MPG, but during playback, the first one second of video loops continuously while the audio continues. At the top and bottom of the screen you can see a few lines of the movie playing in the background... Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

This is copy protection. The ATI card will not let you capture macrovision-protected material.
you can try a patch on http://www.doon9.net
