    Hi guys.

For quite a while, I've been considering a switch to Linux; however, because I do a lot of work using CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) languages, and that happens to be one thing Micro$oft actually does well.

So, my question is, basically, do Linux IMEs exist for CJK languages? Also, do programs exist to read Chinese (both Simp. and Trad), Japanese, and Korean within Linux?

    Thanks,

    Ma Jie

    Short answer, yes.

Check out www.distrowatch.com . You can search by distro, country of origin, and/or langauge(s) supported.

Most do have Kanji input, though the translation is hardly ever 100% complete. So, some programs will either display native english, or completely screwed up fonts.

I do know that KDE supports many different languages, I would assume that those are included. I think distrowatch is probably your best bet though for finding a distro suited for you. Personally I use Slackware 10.1 with the 2.4.xx kernel. www.slackware.com.
