Can anybody answer my question above? The interlacing is still a problem. And all of the AVI files I insert into Vegas for cropping and cutting are sized 640x480. So should I make my output AVI file 640x480 as well?

Another question I have is how to have a song title/text fade in and then out at the beginning of the video at the bottom left corner of the video? And then near the end of the video, I have that title fade in again and then fade out. Basically, this is those song titles put on music videos. I also don't want these text to go too low or it will get cut off by the overscan on my TV. Thanks for any help!

No I can assure you VEGAS will not stretch the video but create black
boxes (letterboxes) for the missing output

Just like you said, the letterboxes appeared. Since the originals were 640x480, why can't I output it the same? I also got rid of the interlacing by selecing progressive scan. Now the only thing left to be answered is that fadein-fadeout text. I found the effect under Media Generator but when I played it, the text will fade in while the actual video faded to black. When the text faded out, the video faded back in. How can I get only the text to fade in and out and not the video?

I forgot to mention that when I dragged a text effect/transition onto the timeline, that properties box will pop up. Well, I don't know what I accidentally pressed but now all the properties boxes appear in the lowest left corner of Vegas, where the explorer used to be. Well actually, the explorer part is shortened to make way for the effect box. How do I get it to go back to pop-up mode?

  6. Just pull the box out."Undock" it,I think that is the term.

Thanks. I actually clicked on the resizable line and then pulled outwards and it worked. Never thought to click there before.

    [New question here]

I have a problem using Vegas Video's preview window. It's very laggy and I cannot see most of the effects I made to the video such as fade in, fade out, and fading transitions between clips. Is there a way to solve this?
