Be careful with ftp servers, they could become a warez distribution system if not properly configured.

One good ftp client is cuteFTP :

cuteftp has spyware and doesnt offer the performance of flash or smart --

    warftp is a server - , unless there is a client ..

warftp is not used much anymore as a server because of security concerns ..

serv-u and blackmoon are two very good servers for windows .. ProFTPD vsftpd and glftpd are the best for unix .. glftpd is very good .

blackmoon for windows is not as well known - but its one of the most secure and highly configurable servers around . lots of plug ins ..

I use Leech FTP. It's freeware and very straightforward for an FTP app.

  9. Judging by the 1st post, sounds like he wants a FTP server. For clients, I use WS_FTP Pro

BTW, my War_FTP was never hacked, and I had a busy site a few years back. As long as you setup NTFS permissions correctly, you should have any problems

Well if you want to host an FTP server why not just use IIS?

true -- might as well just run an open host

And we thank you for that

SmartFTP. If it loses the connection it resumes where it left off. Add to that a slick, easy interface 8)
