I have a philips 711 dvd player im using latest tmpgenc
also read over over the guide to get this burn the mpeg to play as a vcd.
The avi file is showing width 352 pixels height 240 pixels audio mpeg layer 3 framerate 29 fps then at the bottom of the props for this file it says video compression divxmpeg4 v3.what should my settings be on tmpgenc to get this work as a vcd on uk philips 711?????????????please help

(i assume your dvd player is able to play vcd's on cd-r, and that the avi file plays fine on your computer)
you appear to have an avi in ntsc format, in the proper size, but with audio compressed in a way that might screw up tmpgenc
here's how i do it:
1. i extract (save wav) the audio stream from the avi as a wav file
2. in tmpgenc i select the divx avi file as video source, the just saved wave file as audio source
3. encode
4. then i burn it with nero or winoncd, done
