I must be pretty stupid, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to play back a DVD folder (VIDEO_TS) from the hard drive using WMP 10 or Nero Media Player 1.4.0.22.

Are these players unable to play a DVD folder? The folders in question are inside other folders, but WinDVD has no problems playing them.

    Am I missing something?

    Try Nero Showtime
Autoload usually presents a list of installed players.

For WMP10, select play on the menu bar, then DVD, VDC, CD and select the drive with the DVD.

Thanks, but you seem to be talking about playing DVD's from installed DVD players. My original post stated I'm trying to play from a folder on my hard drive. Your instructions dont work with folders.

    OK then,
Right click on "VIDEO_TS.IFO" and select "Open With".

    the following work for me.
    Nero Showtime, WMP10, PowerDVD, etc.

    Thank you.
It worked with Nero Showtime (I had mentioned Nero Media Player, I forgot about Showtime). WMP 10 only plays the sound, however.

    Good enough.

WMV-10 doesn't have a MPeg2 decoder built in. It uses what you install from other sources. This is due to patent royalty per PC issues.

What sources? I already have WinDVD and Nero Showtime, as well as various DVD authoring programs. WMP 9 displayed DVD VIDEO NO PROBLEM.
