  1. Sorry if this question has been asked a zillion times but i couldnt find a thread that helped my prob. For some reason i'm unable to play any video file of any sort on my pc. Previously i had no probs but then for some strange reason it just stopped. Audio plays fine but no video. I'm using XP SP1 and WMP 10. Have installed way heaps of codecs and tried several different players but still no go. Any ideas would be most helpful.

it could be some overlay problems. test different settings under options->performance->advanced in wmp.

are you using two monitors? or outputting to a tv?

  3. Or uninstall all codecs.

Use gspot to identify what codecs your file needs and the install only the ones it recommends.

  4. Baldrick, yes i am using two monitors as my video card will allow that and i need two. I'm running a 17" Compaq & a 19" Dell, on different resolutions/refresh rates. How would this affect video performance?

Check your display card documentation for overlay modes and setup.
