Does anyone know of a capture utility that can capture video from a DV camcorder into a custom format. Basically I want to capture video that is not in DV format avi files, also, I would like to capture at a different frame rate and possibly different resolution. I currently use Ulead Media Studio for editing, and capture utility does have an option to capture with different modes, but the only other useful one is Mpeg capture, but the options are still very simple.

If you transfer the DV stream to a DV-AVI file, any of the conversions listed can be applied. https://www.videohelp.com/convert
If your computer is fast enough, the DV stream can be real time encoded to Mpeg2 or MPeg1 using your Ulead Media Studio's encoder. Start with 8,000Kbps CBR, LPCM audio. Note CPU%. Add more compression if your CPU can handle it. The encoder offers a wide range of capture options including different resolutions.
