So I installed my pvr-250 card, and the series of software that goes with it, including the ulead dvd movie factory, all goes well while testing her out.

Then, I run into a huge roadblock when trying to make a VCD from the .mpg I just created. I go through the routine, and then it seems to hang at rendering file? I shouldn't really say it hangs, but the progress bar moves ever so slowly. Is this normal? All I was trying to do was burn a 1/2hr show on a VCD for a testrun.

I'm guessing by reading this board more and more, I'm probably going to need a lot more programs than what's available on the pvr-250 disc.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

My main objective is to create a few vcd's or svcd's from live captures or vhs backups.

    Thanks,

    PR

If you've captured with VCD profile, it ought to be possible to just author it as VCD with VCDEasy? Possibly a remultiplex as VCD with TMPGEnc as an intermediate step. Personally, I only use WinTV of the bundled apps. For all aother tasks (besides viewing and capturing) there are better apps available.

    thank you !

the vcdeasy looked fairly simple, so i gave it a try. i appreciate the heads-up about it.

this is a whole brand new area i'm getting into, and there's so much to learn.

thank you again for helping me.

Ulead takes forever. I never use it. I have the PVR-300 and there is no need to re-encode if you record in a VCD template with your card. I'm sure you found out that VCDeasy will accept your Hauppage recorded files with no problem.
