  1. I am using an ilo DVDHR04 to record and copy VHS and DVD. I understand that this unit saves the file to the HDD in a MPEG 1 or 2 format. Some DVD’s are double layer and the file could be too large to fit on a single disk.. The HR04 recorder does not burn DL disks but I have a burner on the PC that will. I would like the file to be on a single DVD5 disk. The vast majority of files would and I could use the HR04 directly which would save a lot of time. On some, to save a lot of hassle, I can take the HR04 drive to the PC and transfer the file but it would be in MPEG format. Finally my question. I the file on the HDD is already a DVD (MPEG) Can't I use a program like DVD Shrink. or DVD Decrypter to rip or shrink the files right from the HDD.
