  3. Any audio prog. Goldwave, Audacity, even Nero has a .wav editor that can do it.

  4. Which burning application are you using? If it's Nero then it will do it for you. Once you've added all your tracks to the complilation, select them all, right click and select properties. You will see an option to add a "Normalise Filter". This will standardise volume across the tracks.

If your burning software doesn't support this, you have other options. If you are using mp3 as your source try mp3gain here:

    http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php

If you are using ripped CD tracks (.wav) then you could try this app (only one file at a time though)

    http://www.bheller.com/file/NormalizeGUI.zip

You can pick up a Nero copy so cheap though, and check your burning app if it sisn't Nero, see if there's a Normalise option hidden anywhere.

  6. This is only true when creting an audio CD. I personally wish it could do this when burning an MP3 cd as well. It is a pain listening to MP3s in my truck and the volume is up and down hehe

If you mean actual MP3 CDs then you are right. If you are making regular music cds from MP3 files, you will be able to equalize during the conversion process.
