Hi,
The guide here suggested using TMPGenc and Vobsub to add permanent subtitiles to VCD.
I tried but my TMPGenc always crashed. I am trying to convert an AVI ripped from DVD to VCD. The said AVI contained two setero files.
I have tried Mainconceptencoder to do the job by converting it to mpeg. It have done its job well though only one audio file was added into the VCD as opposed to two.
Now i want subtitles in the VCD. I know i need to add it during encoding process, is it possible to using Mainconcept instead of TMPG? How?
Thanks

you can also extract everything using VirtualDubMod - video, audio, subs and frameserve it with AVIsynth then TMPGenc plus for converting it to VCD. -
Maybe I am posting too late, but I can suggest a "dirty" trick. Convert separately the video and the two audio files (can be done with TMPG), ajusting the bitrate in order to fit CD (or maybe two CD's). Multiplex them with bbMPEG using SVCD settings. I assume you have text based subtitles. Convert them to .ssa. Load the subtitles in MaestroSBT. Adjust colors, position and so on. Save it as submux.sub file in separate folder. Multiplex the subs with already multiplexed mpg file using WinSubMux. (CVD style is more compatible). Import to VCDEasy to author and burn.
You can use the already encoded with MainConcept file. Demultiplex to video and audio. Encode the second audio and multiplex all three with bbMPEG. But it can result in oversized file. The other workarround is to drop the bitrate of audio (if it is 224 kbps) to 128 kbps in order to have both audio files.
I have done this many times before (now I have DVD burner) and such a discs play in my DVD player without a problem. But be warned it may not be suitable for you.
