New Ver2 Is ace, but we need a CCE option....

THis version is ACE, straight avi to dvd is what I've been needing for ages. I'm not to impressed with the final quality though, even when using the 2-pass option. Is there ANY chance of having an option to encode with CCE....????

In total, putting 3 divx movies onto 1 DVD, took 5 hours, using 2-pass option. I know CCE will take a lot, lot longer, but I'm prepared to wait as the results produced by CCE are flawless, in my opinion. I'm not having a dig at this program, no doubts, its ACE, but it would be nice to have the option of waiting a bit longer for better results. Its all about sacrafice, but I'm willing to make it....

Indeed. I just need to know more about your run. (i am working on improving the encoding). I would like to know, not how long it took, but the length of your 3 movies in minutes.

I'd like to echo the prayer for a tie-in with CCE encoding.

judgejunior@: Can you try a single movie? Why? because putting that much volume on one DVD will not produce good quality from SVCD2DVD and also most encoders. If your sources are of good quality then to maintain that quality you should be looking to only have around 2 hours duration per DVD. Anything more than that and the quality will suffer.

5 hours of avi material on DVD is not realistic at all.

Whilst SVCD2DVD will allow large durations for avi to dvd conversions 2 hours is the max recommended. 3 hours is ok but you will get a resolution reduction to Half-d1. Much more and you have no chance. It has to be said that one movie per DVD is the target for avi sources.

In the mean time i will look at CCE support.
