Hope someone can help me out on this one.
I´m trying with virtualdub to reencode a xvid file with Global Motion Compensation feature to a regular xvid.
Just read some post here in the videohelp forum and decided to use xvid codec with single pass, profile level AS @ L5 and used the bitrate calculator on the xvid codec to set my target bitrate.
I need the reencoded file to fit on a CD (700MB) so the target size on the calculator was set to: 716800.
Now my final file size is never around 700MB.
How can I get the correct file size for my reencoded video?
I also have a second question, should I chance something in the zone options or just the leave on the default options?
Anyway... what are the zone options for??? Can I just delete them?
Thanks for your atention in avance!

are you using direct stream copy for the audio?
how big is the file? smaller bigger? different all the time? -

In the built in calculator I used the correct settings for target size, frames per second and audio format... which I´m using MP3 codec 128/44800 and my source is an wav file extracted with virtualdub from the original xvid file.
Virtualdub audio is set to full process.
At last... my encoded file size is about 650MB and not the expected 700MB.
thanks for your reply! -
The audio is 128/48kHz
My target bitrate was set as 860 and I just tried Gspot on my encoded file and got 808. Why this bit rate chance? Doesn´t xvid use the target bitrate? Is it related to my zone options? What am I doing wrong?
Hope someone can help me out with this file size issue.
Thanks again.
