  1. Currently I import video footage thru FIREWIRE 1394 port in my PC. I edit the footage and have output the footage to TV/Monitor for previews using the DV camera path thru.

    Basically the setup is like this:
    Capturing.

    VHS
    DV --> IEEE1394 --> PC
    DVD

    Output to TV
    PC --> IEEE1394 --> DV CAM --> TV/Monitor

    I am using PPRO 1.5 and would like to eliminate DV CAM form the output chain.

    Basically I want two non-depended ways to capture video and output to TV/Monitor while I am editing.

    Please let me know what parts are required and how to set it up.

    Thanks.

  2. Try this:

    It's a TV capture card. That's what I use. There are many choices starting around $30+ Then I use video output from the video card and hook that to the TV via the RCA connections. Works like a charm

  3. Does it output signal from Premiere Pro?

  4. I don't use PPro, don't even know what it is. I just use either the DivX player or WM Player for the palyback device. WinDVD sometimes

    The TV capture card comes with its own capture software too.

    Any of the DV capture devices like the Canopus ADVC-100 would allow you to output to a preview monitor from Premiere, however I don't think you can preview it as you're capturing it from a digital source. Perhaps the higher-end ones like the ADVC-500 can do this? Otherwise I just use the S-video out on my video card to output to a TV and just place one of the preview monitors from Premiere into it sized to fit. It isn't quite the same though since it's technically just a resized window so it won't give you a great idea as to where your picture will cut out on a TV but it still gives you the proper color representation. I also use this for Encore to preview the menus and everything for color problems.
