  1. Hi,
i have a Leadtek Winfast 2000 Expert (not deluxe) hooked up to a sat receiver that outputs 16:9. I'm using the WinPVR utility from Leadtek to capture and schedule.

    I have a few problems/questions:

-using the MPEG2 presets it seems to randomly not record sound on the 2nd file, if using FAT32 split (4GB) or any split size using the software options.

-i am always capturing to MPEG2 (usually 720x576 with ~3500kbps), then encoding to Divx with Dr.Divx. I see many of you capture to AVI instead, Huff or something, because of quality. What codec do you recommend then? My aim is to fit like 3hrs in about 2x600MB AVIs at the best possible quality. I'm using component inputs via scart from the receiver. How much space does an hour in Huff before encoding take then?

-if i want to record the programs that are broadcast in 16:9, do the 720x576 presets still hold? What other smaller sizes can i use and preserve the 16:9 ratio?

Funny thing, i tried capturing straight to MPEG4 and it still drops frames...it's like in slo-motion almost (both preview and final video). Using a P4 2.6 HT, 1GB DDR433, 6800GT and 300GB 7.2k 8mb cache WD...not a sloppy system. And yes, i checked running processes while capturing, i disabled antivirus software, etc...

    Thanks.
