I'm authoring material to dvd with dvdit and I noticed that the file size the video takes up on the dvd is 1.5 times the original file size. Didn't seem to make a difference between 352x480 or 720x40 files.
There can't be that much overhead. Any explanation out there?

I had the same problem. It was explained to me that the Sonic programs are uncompressing the audio for some reason and that is what is taking up so much space. I used spruceup and Ulead DVD and Pinnacle and none of them had that problem. The thing that stinks is that Sonic was the easiest to use/learn. Too bad I had to throw it out the window for something that doesn't waste space.
